This week I have trying to get together all the materials that will make up the rest of the bin, those being: pebbles, soil, organic waste and worms!
I kept our organic waste for a few weeks to guage how much waste we were discarding. We average about 1kg a week. I can now use this information to obtain the correct weight of worms to buy. I've found a company that sells red worms over the internet and have ordered myself 500g of red wigglers! This weekend I am off to Bexhill where hopefully some of my co-travellers will hide pebbles in my bag hoping I don't notice until I get home! I also have found a patch of land near Brockley cemetry which has a good mixture of dry and wet soil which I will use.
